Portage Public Schools operates elementary, middle and high schools, and is located Portage, Mich. Its community education center provides classes for infant through adults during both daytime and evening hours, and it offers classes in fitness and exercise, recreation, computers and business, languages and music. The district operates Central, North and West middle school. Its international baccalaureate programs are a two-year comprehensive curriculum for grades 11 and 12 that prepares students for postsecondary study. The curriculum instruction council meets once in a month to discuss curriculum, instruction assessment decisions and initiatives regarding all grade levels and programs.
