Informations
Pastor Carter is the founding pastor along with his supportive family. Prayer Assembly has been blessed to grow wonderfully through the great people that the Lord has sent to share the vision of the ministry: "Each One, Reach One." Pastor Carter holds steadfastly to the principles of Holiness and the doctrines of the Church of God In Christ.Prayer Assembly was founded in a tax business office on North Central Avenue in Phoenix, Arizona on Wednesday, May 15th 1974. Later on a building was purchased at 2144 East Roosevelt, which was paid for in 3 years. The membership consisted of only the Carter family, Edward, Vaughn, Keith and Leslie. A week later, the membership grew by one member, Brother Jerry Moore. In June of the same year, Sister Dora Byers became the second member and from then on the membership began to grow. The Lord blessed us richly in each service even in the small building. With a vision to expand and the leading of the Holy Ghost we temporarily resided at 3535 North 35th Avenue. We stayed in this edifice from May 1984 to October of the same year. In the same year we transitioned over to the Phoenix Indian Baptist Church. We worshiped there from November 1984 to May 1985. From May 1985 - October 1998 we were at 4075 West Indian School Road. We sold the building at 4075 W. Indian School Road.We were temporary at 3106 N. 35th Ave while the City of Glendale was going through the steps to approve our building permit. During this time though, the Lord shared with Pastor Carter and Trustee Board a different direction for the property. We could make it a community based resource—senior citizen's complex, low income complex etc. That is where the Prayer Assembly is with respect to the 4.25 acres that God has blessed us to own outright. But now, we are in our newly purchased home on McDowell Road in Phoenix—praise the Lord. We are looking to bigger and better things from God—so join in with us as we go toward our greater destiny.Dear Loved Ones, Welcome to our Praise Site!God has been extremely good to Prayer Assembly over the years and has taken the church to many wonderful levels of blessing, for which we are most thankful.
