The merger of Prescient Systems and viaLink Company formed prescient Applied Intelligence. It provides subscription-based electronic commerce and software solutions that enable retailers and suppliers to capture, manage, share and utilize point-of-sale information through the supply chain. Prescient Systems, founded as Lucas, Bear & Associates, began marketing forecasting and inventory planning software applications to the manufacturing sector in 1982. Through the last 10 years, it has provided supply chain planning and collaboration solutions for the retail industry. The viaLink Company was founded as Applied Intelligence Group in 1985 to provide data synchronization capabilities to the grocery and consumer packaged goods industries. Prescient Applied Technologies has more than 800 customers, including AutoZone, Ahold, Bic, Binney & Smith, Coors, Domino's Pizza, Dreyer s, Jack Link s, Rite Aid, Rhodes International, Sara Lee, Schwan's, Sunny Delight, Well s Dairy and Wyeth. The company has headquarters in West Chester, Pa., and an office in Dallas.
