The Prestera Center for Mental Health Services has been providing the supportive programs of behavioral health care since 1967. With more than 50 locations, it serves Cabell, Mason, Lincoln, Wayne, Putnam, Boone, Clay and Kanawha counties in West Virginia. The center is one of the largest mental health and addiction services providers in the state of West Virginia. With over 700 employees, the Prestera Center for Mental Health Services offers general outpatient solutions to children and adults, as well as specialized services for intensive care. It also provides a variety of detoxification, public inebriate, and long- and short-term residential housing services. The center operates The Prestera Foundation, which is a private, nonprofit corporation. The Prestera Center for Mental Health Services in-home services program serves children between the ages of 5 and 18. Its ACT Team offers community-based rehabilitative services to individuals with serious and persistent mental illnesses. The services provided by the ACT Team include assertive outreach, recovery-oriented treatment planning and oversight, counseling, and medication and behavioral management. In addition, the center s FACES program includes individual and family counseling, parent and family resource education, advocacy, and crisis and supportive intervention services.
