Prince William Sound Economic Development District has been doing business since its founding in 1991. It specializes in regional economic issues focusing on small business development, the fishing industry, tourism, transportation and workforce development. The district caters to Chenega Bay, Cordova, Tatitlek, Valdez and Whittier communities. Some of its completed projects include Chenega Bay trails, sound waste management plan (SWMP), Western Prince William sound interpretive displays and Valdez dock improvements. Prince William Sound Economic Development District is a member of the Alaska Regional Development Organization (ARDOR) network.
