Probation Supervision is a state government-operated unit that provides substance abuse treatment, assessment, educational and counseling services. Located in Athens, Ga., the unit offers supervision services for more than 35,000 offenders. Probation Supervision is a part of the corrections unit of the Georgia Department of Corrections. In addition, the Georgia Department of Corrections operates various state prisons and transitional and diversion centers.
