Based in Durham, N.C., R.N. Harris Elementary School serves more than 300 students in kindergarten through grade five. It organizes a range of extracurricular activities that include instrumental and choral music programs, field trips and outdoor camps. The school s health department informs students about various issues, such as contagious diseases, special health problems, medications, and child abuse and neglect. The department additionally conducts hearing and vision tests. The elementary school operates a library that stocks a collection of books, magazines and newspapers.
