Ramsey County Public Works Department offers various programs to enhance social and economic welfare of the residents of Ramsey County in Minnesota. It offers various services to maintain a safe and efficient transportation system that is coordinated with the needs of other units of government. The department also provides programs to facilitate preservation of the quality of county lakes and various water resources through resource management solutions, and provide a system of uniform land records to ensure proper recording of land survey documents. It employs more than 150 people who plan, program, maintain and construct over 250 miles of roads that make up the county s highway system. The highway system comprises intermediate type roads consisting of minor arterials and collectors carrying more than 1,700,000 vehicle miles everyday.
