Located in Redding, Calif., the Redding Police Department-Investigations Division conducts follow-up investigations on various felony and misdemeanor crimes reported to the police department. The division maintains sexual assault, burglary, gang prevention, senior citizen and dependent adult abuse, and high-technology and property crimes units. In addition, it operates crime prevention, narcotics, financial crime and missing persons units. The Redding Police Department supports the Explorer program, which provides law enforcement training and education to students between the ages of 14 and 21. The police department provides several online crime statistics, maps and crime reporting applications. It also conducts periodic citizen surveys and organizes various neighborhood and vacation watch programs.
