Reproductive Services of San Antonio was founded in 1973 and was the first nonprofit clinic in the Southwest to offer abortion services in an outpatient setting. Our mission is to provide a safe and affordable choice for women. Our physician/owner, Dr. Alan Braid, M.D., is Board Certified in Obstetrics/Gynecology. As a specialist in women's health care, he is committed to helping women with their pregnancies, including providing abortions. Dr. Braid made this commitment in 1972 during his internship, when he witnessed the devastating effect of illegal abortions. It is this commitment that inspires him to educate women about their choices and provide safe, quality abortion services. At our clinic, you will have a private discussion with a member of our staff regarding the procedure and after care. This is private not in a group, however if you would like, a support person may be included. The entire clinic staff is warm, kind, compassionate and respectful. Our experienced nurses and medical assistants work with the physician as a team to provide support for our patients before, during and after the abortion. We understand that your care continues after you leave our clinic and we are available 24 hours, seven days a week to handle any emergency or concern that may arise.
