Rose Pistola, located in the heart of historic North Beach in San Francisco, is an upscale restaurant with a menu inspired by residents of the original area of the Ligurian coast, near Genoa & Portofino. The restaurant s menu includes pizza or focaccia cooked in wood-burning ovens; seasonal, small-plate antipasti and pastas in simple, ingredient-driven sauces; whole roasted fish; signature whole roasted crab & cioppino; and grilled and rotisserie meats and fowl. Its wine list is comprised of an array of wines from Italy and California, many from small, unique wineries with limited production. Rose Pistola was awarded the prestigious James Beard Foundation award for Best New Restaurant in the United States when it opened in 1997. The restaurant is owned and operated by San Francisco-based Nice Ventures, which also owns Rose s Caf , Terzo and Rose Goes to Market.
