Forest Oil Corporation is an independent natural gas and oil company engaged in the exploration, development, exploitation and acquisition of domestic natural gas and oil properties. The company s operations are primarily focused in south Texas, Arkansas' Arkoma Basin, the Rocky Mountains and offshore in the shallow waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Forest Oil operates approximately 80 percent of its production. Approximately 92 percent of the company's net proved reserves are natural gas and 64 percent are classified as proved developed. Proved reserves total more than 861 billion cubic feet equivalent. The south Texas and Arkoma properties represent 61 percent of the total proved reserves. The offshore properties in the Gulf of Mexico represent 28 percent of the total proved reserves. Forest Oil is headquartered in Houston.
