Safeway Inc. is one of the largest food and drug retailers in North America. With one of its outlets in Portland, Ore., the company operates through about 1,700 stores across the western, southwestern, Rocky Mountain, Midwestern and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States as well as in western Canada. The retail chain has an extensive network of distribution, manufacturing and food processing facilities. It offers a selection of products, such as fruits, vegetables, milk, creamy yogurts, cottage cheese and whole milk and bread, among others.
