The Salter School's Fall River campus is a great place for local residents to expand their knowledge of the healthcare field. We have three other campuses located in Malden MA, New Bedford MA, and Tewksbury MA. Not all programs are offered at each campus.

The high standard of professional training offered by The Salter School for over 65 years has earned an outstanding reputation for providing qualified personnel. The Career Department has implemented a Career Directions Seminar, which provides a realistic approach to searching for employment. In addition, students are scheduled for personalized sessions to finalize their job search tools and talk about their individual needs concerning employment.
Employment information is updated and monitored on a continuing basis. The Career Department provides lifetime job search assistance to graduates and alumni. Career Fairs are held to provide career information. Human resource professionals meet with students to discuss job search opportunities.
Externships are offered as part of most programs. Students serve an average of three months in their chosen field of study. Externships provide hands-on experience and opportunities, which may lead to employment after graduation.

Massage Therapy - The goal of our massage therapy training program is to provide quality career education in the art and science of massage therapy, while also teaching sound business practices which will prepare students for success in the marketplace. Upon completion of our massage therapy program, potential career opportunities include, but are not limited to, working with athletic teams, physical therapy, hotels, day spas, corporate wellness programs, private practices, chiropractic clinics, airports, beauty salons, golf and country clubs, orthopedic clinics, fitness centers, resorts, cruise ships, hospitals, and nursing homes.
Professional Medical Assistant - This program prepares students with real-world job skills such as drawing blood, giving medication or assisting in laboratory procedures under the direction of a physician.
Health Claims Specialist - The Health Claims Specialist program provides comprehensive medical billing and coding training in a professional environment. The students are immersed in the terminology, diagnostic, procedural coding, and record management required of healthcare professionals. Upon completion of this program, students can attain a medical billing and coding certification, allowing them to obtain positions in private physicians' offices, clinics, hospitals, insurance companies, and claims management companies.
