The San Diego Convention Center Corporation was created by the city of San Diego to manage, market and operate the world-class San Diego Convention Center. Since opening in 1989, the Convention Center Corporation has generated $11 billion in regional economic impact and nearly $230 million in tax revenues. It has also helped to create approximately 8,000 jobs. The San Diego Convention Center Corporation s primary mission is to attract conventions and meetings that generate economic benefits for San Diego. The convention center features national conventions and trade shows, as well as local meetings, banquets, educational, cultural, religious and social functions. It hosts popular consumer events, such as the San Diego International Auto Show and San Diego Boat Show.
