The San Joaquin County Superior Court serves as the general trial court for all residents in San Joaquin County in California. The Superior Court has jurisdiction over all felonies, misdemeanors, civil cases of all amounts, small claims, traffic, cases involving title and possession of real property, dissolution of marriage and child custody, probate, conservatorship, mental health and juvenile proceedings. These proceedings are conducted at the Stockton Courthouse in Stockton, Calif.; Juvenile Justice Center in French Camp, Calif.; and branch courts in Lodi, Manteca and Tracy, Calif. In 2001, San Joaquin County Superior Court received the prestigious Ralph N. Kleps award for its court-community leadership and liaison program. San Joaquin County Superior Court was also a Ralph N. Kleps award recipient in 2000 for its innovative jury cuty compliance program. San Joaquin County is located in northern California and has a population of more than 600,000.
