Sebring West Automotive Center is locally owned and operated by Fresno native, Tony Pasco. Tony's passion for foreign cars and all things automotive led him and a friend to open a 4, 000 square foot repair shop on McKinley Avenue, in January of 1971. From the beginning, Tony specialized in foreign automotive repairs. At that time, foreign cars were an area of the automotive industry just in its infancy, a few years before the US gasoline crunch brought floods of foreign cars to American consumers. 1975 brought the opening of a small parts department adjacent to the existing service area. With an all-foreign parts inventory, the majority of Sebring West's stock was geared toward Tony's first love, the air-cooled Volkswagen. The VW Beetle became one of the best-selling import cars in the country and Sebring West soon grew to be known as the leader in air-cooled VW repairs. By 1978, Sebring West's parts department had outgrown the McKinley location. Two and a half miles away, Tony opened a 7, 000 square foot parts department, just off of Blackstone, Fresno's "Business Boulevard." With two stores in full swing, Tony hired qualified employees and slowly began his own transformation from mechanic to full-time manager. In 1985, Sebring West joined the well-known national marketing cooperative, CARQUEST. This move added American parts to the Sebring West inventory and more importantly, it provided employees access to a local parts warehouse. This newfound advantage enabled Sebring West to offer its clientele same day service for even hard-to-find parts. By 1989, Sebring West had outgrown both locations. In search of a permanent home for Sebring West, Tony found a building that would allow the business to grow. A vacant Buick dealership provided 20, 000 square feet of space to combine both the service and parts divisions of Sebring West in a single convenient location. Now, nearly 40 years later, under the same ownership, Sebring West Automotive Center is proud to serve you as one of the largest independent service and parts facilities in the San Joaquin Valley.
