Since August 1952, Shaffer, Johnston, Lichtenwalter & Associates, Inc. in Mansfield and Wooster has been providing high quality engineering design and surveying services for cities, counties, businesses and individuals in Ohio. SJL was one of the first five firms in Ohio selected in the early fifties to furnish design services to the state of Ohio when they initiated their policy of contracting with consultants. One of the first projects undertaken upon formation of our firm in 1952 (then known as Shaffer, Parrett & Associates) was the planning and construction of the Ohio Turnpike, in the Wauseon area. This was a joint venture known as General Industries, Inc. Today SJL continues to provide quality engineering services for numerous counties and cities in the state of Ohio.
