Sizzler is a mid-scale, casual-style dining restaurant chain. It was founded in 1958 by Del and Helen Johnson in Culver City, Calif. The chain s menu includes country fried steak, chicken breast, pork ribs, chicken strips, cheeseburgers and turkey sandwiches. It also offers a variety of seafood that includes shrimp, clams, cod, and salmon. Sizzler is owned by Pacific Equity Partners, and owns or franchises more than 300 restaurants worldwide. Its restaurants also have salad bars that offer seasonal salads, gourmet soups, appetizers, fresh fruit and desserts. Most Sizzler restaurants cover approximately 5,000 to 6,000 square feet. The chain maintains a presence in San Diego.
