The Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian is the first national museum dedicated to the preservation, study and exhibition of the life, languages, literature, history and arts of the Native Americans. The museum houses an extensive collection of cultural material on all major culture areas of almost all tribes of the United States and most of those in Canada. including film, audio-visual collections, paper and photography archives. Free Admission Closed Dec. 25 There is no parking at the museum. Limited on street parking and surrounding paid parking garages available.
