Founded in 1976, Wilmington Pathology Associates began serving New Hanover County as a hospital-based group at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Based in Wilmington, N.C., it offers a full range of surgical pathology and cytology services, including immunohistochemistry library, fine-needle aspiration interpretation, HPV (human papillomavirus)/gonorrhea/chlamydia testing, frozen sections, ThinPrep Pap tests and flow cytometry. The hospital provides pathology services for Cape Fear Hospital, Wilmington SurgCare, Pender Memorial Hospital, Brunswick Community Hospital and many independent physicians' practices.
