As a young child, Sophie's desire for fashion began with sketches. Her mother was the first of her influences, and helped realize Sophie's passion for fashion. As a devoted student, Sophie became a fashion designer. She has developed her own elegant style in a modern world, giving women a new look and a fashion statement.
After a short study of Apparel Design in Shanghai in 1998, Sophie opened her first custom-made bridal boutique in China. Her main focus was customer service, and Sophie offered them the best quality and a one-of-a-kind look. In the period of three years her business developed dramatically. Sophie created custom evening gowns for famous Chinese actresses and television hosts. Her collection grew to the point that it was sold in locally high-end department stores.
Sophie relocated to the United States to find new and interesting challenges in the industry and to continue her education. As one of the most talented graduates in Apparel Design from the Art Institute of Portland, Button magazine published an article about her work. Soon after, she participated in a fashion show and was interviewed by K.A.T.U. television.
In February 2010, Sophie launched her first bridal and bridesmaids collection in Portland, Oregon under the name Sophie Chang. She opened her bridal boutique called it Sophie Bridal Couture. The new collection was inspired by modern music and features soft lines with details that give the gowns a fresh and dynamic look.
Sophie believes that women should always have their dream look, especially on their wedding day. Sophie Bridal Couture only uses high quality materials. Each gown is carefully constructed and hand crafted by one individual person from beginning to finish.
