Established in 2004, South Valley Junior High School is an educational institution that has an annual enrollment of nearly 945 students in grades seven and eight. It maintains a parent-teacher-student association that conducts monthly meetings and organizes various events and activities for overall development of the school. South Valley Junior High School also operates a library media center that houses a collection of more than 10,000 books and supports an accelerated reader program that is used to monitor and guide reading practices and help students in improving reading abilities. The school has a staff of over 40 full-time certified teachers and paraprofessionals that includes an athletic director, transition specialist, psychologist, nurse and school resource officer.
