Special Delivery San Diego, founded in 1991, is a nonprofit organization that provides home delivery of food for men, women and children who are suffering from AIDS and other terminal diseases. The organization, located in San Diego, also offers pickup services for people who live outside its service area and those who require emergency nutrition due to financial needs. Its kitchen volunteers prepare food according to the individual dietary needs and also package, organize and deliver meals. Each of its delivery includes a cold breakfast and lunch and hot evening meal. Its menu consists of sandwiches, soups, juices, vegetables and desserts. Special Delivery San Diego offers home delivery services to the residents of Hillcrest, Bankers Hill, North and South Park, University Heights, Normal Heights, Kensington, Talmadge and City Heights in California.
