Non-profit Senior Living in Louisville, KY Springhurst Pines Senior Campus is operated by Baptist Homes, Inc., a non-profit corporation dedicated to providing quality care to all regardless of their religious affiliation. BHI was founded in 1966 to fulfill a bequest from N.B. and Sarah H. Wigginton to provide care and housing for indigent men in Jefferson County. The original facility was on South Third Street in Old Louisville. It was soon recognized that there was a need for a larger, more modern facility that could serve all who needed such services. In 1979, BHI opened what is now Springhurst Health and Rehab (originally Baptist Home East) on Hurstbourne Parkway (known then as Hounz Lane) in Eastern Jefferson County. In 2002, Parr's at Springhurst was opened next door.
