Opened in 1987, St. Catherine Convent/ Provincial House includes a small chapel and sleeping quarters. The convent maintains a library that caters to the educational and apostolic needs of residents. It is a part of the Dominican Sisters of Mary Immaculate Province, which was established in 1978. The community has more than 90 staff members. It offers a range of spiritual support and religious services. The Dominican Sisters of Mary Immaculate Province serves people in Houston, Crosby, Port Arthur, Port Lavaca and Shiner in Texas. The community offers a variety of child care and nursing solutions. It also provides Catholic educational and social work opportunities.
