Planning for and having a new baby is a special time, and that is why the St. John Center for Women's Health offers specialized education for expectant families and state of the art inpatient services for baby and mom. Classes include Breastfeeding Basics, Safe Start (CPR and carseat safety), Newborn 101, Childbirth Education, Sibling Family Tours, Developmental Infant Massage, Infanct CPR, Grandparenting and Kidsitters (babysitting class). St. John Labor & Delivery and Post Partum rooms feature newly remodeled patient rooms, flat screen TV's and soft lighting. The Breastfeeding Resource Center offers additional lactation support for nursing mothers while in the hospital and consultations are available by appointment upon discharge. The Newborn Nursery and Special Care Nursery offer a large viewing area for families and friends to see babies up close. For babies who need a little extra care, such as IV's, specialized monitoring, or other special treatments, the Center's Level 2 nursery offers individual rooms to give parents privacy with their baby. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit offers 30 private rooms, enabling parents to stay 24/7, and all critical and transitional care to be performed in the same room.
