Established in 1959, St. Louis Park Jr. High provides education to more than 676 students in grades seven and eight. It offers various academic programs in English, math, science and social studies. The school provides various growth opportunities in technology education, world languages, physical education, art, orchestra, chorus, band, general music and drama. It offers accelerated programs in English and math. It offers gifted and talented programs and extended Spanish immersion program. The school offers special education and specialized reading support. It provides students with a student council, teens advocating drug awareness program, clubs and yearbook. Its athletic activities include football, basketball, swimming, hockey, cross country, skateboarding, badminton, volleyball, tennis, gymnastics, Nordic skiing and track and field. The school also has weight lifting, video and writer's clubs. It is located in St. Louis Park, Minn.
