St. Michael s Special School, founded in 1965, is a part of the Archdiocese of New Orleans Catholic Schools. It provides opportunities for students to develop their Catholic faith and to receive an education that includes religious, academic, social, vocational and physical training. The school is designed to help students with major learning difficulties that hinder their ability to achieve success in a regular class setting. With an enrolment of more than 200 and not more than one teacher per 15 students, it offers a wide range of extra-curricular programs that include sports, singing choir, student council, field trips and summer camps. St. Michael s Special School is located in New Orleans.
