Jack Sutton started the Company, originally called Standard Supply Company, in October 1945. During this post-World War II period, the Company sold auto parts, hardware supplies, and Gleem house paint. The hardware and paint side of the business was phased out, and the Company was renamed Standard Auto Parts Corp. in 1962. The original building on North Avenue was destroyed by fire on February 29, 1960 and the Company moved into its current building on December 20, 1965. This spacious new home allowed us to carry a huge inventory and establish our reputation for having the parts our customers need.¿
