STEP, also known as, the Schapiro Training and Employment Program, is a work force development agency that serves individuals with developmental and psychiatric disabilities. The agency s service areas include Anne Arundel, Carroll, Harford, Queen Anne's, Talbot, Caroline, Kent and Dorchester counties in Maryland. It provides supported educational, vocational rehabilitation and psychological assessment programs. Established in 1986, STEP employs more than 30 individuals. The agency offers human service training and consulting services throughout the United States and Canada. It organizes workshops to teach case management, crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy and documentation skills. STEP also provides on-the-job coaching and support services. In addition, the agency offers competency-based classroom training to develop computer skills. Located in Baltimore, it is a division of Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake
