Taylor Woodrow was founded in 1921, when 16-year-old Frank Taylor built two working-class homes in Blackpool, England. From those modest origins, Taylor Woodrow has built a worldwide homebuilding and community development business based on customer service, design, attention to detail and team work. Taylor Woodrow has also been responsible for some of the world s largest and most unique developments, including such projects as hydro-electric dams in Canada, the John Wayne Orange County airport in California, the British Embassy in Moscow, Main Street USA at Disneyland-Paris and the undersea engineering marvel known as The Chunnel, which connects Great Britain and France. One of the company s offices in the United States is located in Houston.
