Restaurant TBILISI was founded in 1996 in NY by Armenian Lady Malvina Chmelova, who was born and lived in the capital of Georgia TBILISI. Restaurant Tbilisi is the first Georgian Cuisine opened not only in NY, but in whole United States. Today there are couple more Georgian restaurants, but Tbilisi stays to be the first among them, with its delicious food, old style interior, the best service and beautiful paintings of ancient Tbilisi on the walls.
From the start, the restaurant was only place where Georgian immigrants could feel themselves at home, because of its lovely environment.
Since Georgia became more popular and Georgian Cuisine well known among other nations, Restaurant TBILISI turned out to be famous for all the people living in NY. New management leading by Khatuna Baghaturia, from February 2007 keeps the Restaurant in perfect condition. It became even more interesting with folkloric shows.
