Tejano Center for Community Concerns, established in 1992, is a nonprofit organization offering education, social and health services to low-income children and families in Texas. The center recruits, trains and certifies foster homes for the area's abused, neglected and homeless children in need of long-term care. Its program, El Hogar de Ni os, is a 20-bed facility for children in need of emergency residential care. The center provides educational programs in art, computer science, English, history and social sciences, mathematics, military science, physical education and science through its Raul Yzaguirre School for Success. Tejano Center for Community Concerns is located in Houston. It is a member of the Harris County Citizen Corps, an affiliate of the National Council of La Raza, and provides community emergency response team training.
