Based in Kansas City, Mo., Downtown Council of Kansas City has been established by property owners within the district to provide enhanced services and programs for the development and welfare of downtown Kansas City. The council engages in various programs focusing upon life, business and safety/hygiene aspects in the city. The Community Improvement Districts (CIDs) is a part of its safety and hygiene program and engages in graffiti abatement, sidewalk cleaning and trash pickup services, apart from sharing information with visitors. The Downtown Council of Kansas City has two CIDs supporting operations: the Downtown Community Improvement District (DCID) and the River Market Community Improvement District (RMCID).
