The Tomato Palace, opened in 1993, is a family-style Italian restaurant situated on the Lake Kittamaqundi in Maryland. Its menu includes a variety of pizzas, pasta dishes, salads, sandwiches and daily specials, such as eggplant Parmesan. The restaurant also serves Italian chopped salad, margarita pizzas, Italian seafood stew, polenta and meatballs and antipasto mista. It additionally offers a special menu for children, which includes hot dogs with fries, cheese pizzas, seasonal fruit plates, chicken tenders and grilled cheese sandwiches. The restaurant features colorful graphics on the walls and several whimsical tomato chairs by the furniture maker, Peter Danko. It also offers seasonal outdoor dining options and can accommodate up to 50 people. In addition, the restaurant sells gift cards that are available in several denominations. It is a part of Clyde's Restaurant Group, which owns more than 10 restaurants throughout Washington, D.C. The Tomato Palace is located in Columbia, Md.
