The Villages is one the largest nonprofit child and family services agencies that serve over 1,200 children and families each day. Established in 1978, it has more than 20 offices located throughout Indiana. The agency provides foster care and adoption services. The Villages also offers child care and early childhood development services through its Children's Village locations in Indianapolis and Bloomington, Ind. It offers parenting classes to families whose children are at risk of abuse and neglect due to family stressors. The organization provides classes in a group setting on a variety of topics, including child development, age-appropriate discipline, parenting styles and communication skills. In addition, The Villages offers wraparound services to children and adolescents with serious emotional and behavioral disturbances. It maintains a location in Indianapolis.
