TimTec evolved from a venture started by the Zelinsky Institute of Organic Chemistry in the late 1980s. Opportunities in the field of biological screening prompted the Russian-based company to establish operations in Europe and the United States. TimTec was incorporated in 1993 in Newark, Del. The company acquires and distributes synthetic, organic and natural compounds. It also provides custom synthesis, custom weighing and microplate preparation and nuclear magnetic resonance analysis. TimTec is based in a 30,000-square-foot facility, complete with a state-of-the-art synthetic lab, in Newark.
