The Street Maintenance Section maintains streets, alleys and ditches. Its services include street, pothole and curb repair and sweeping. The section also provides roadway treatment and snow removal services during winter. The Street Maintenance Section is a part of the Transportation Operations Division, which is a governed by the City of Topeka. The Transportation Operations Division offers long-term planning options to maintain city streets, traffic signs and signals. The division additionally administers the Traffic Operations Section, which offers installation, maintenance and repair services for signals, school flashers and signs. The Traffic Operations Section also installs and maintains pavement markings, as well as administers leased street lighting programs.
