The Water Division is one of the leading providers of water services in northeastern Kansas. It is a part of the Public Works Department, which is governed by the City of Topeka. The division supplies fresh, clean drinking water for more than 155,000 residents. The Water Division operates treatment facilities, pumping stations and hydrants that process raw water from the Kansas River and pump it through water mains.
