The Tournament Players Club at Piper Glen in Charlotte, N.C., is a private equity golf club that features approximately 510 members. Opened in 1988, the TPC at Piper Glen was designed by Arnold Palmer, and presents a challenging par-72 championship layout, replete with mounds and knolls, wide fairways and multi-tiered greens. The 6,883-yard layout, which was home to the Senior PGA Tour's Home Depot Invitational from 1990 to 2001, winds through rolling terrain, natural rock outcroppings, oak trees and lake inlets, as well as streams and ponds. Palmer designed it to challenge the best players in the world while still accommodating players of all skill levels. In addition to a first-rate layout, the TPC at Piper Glen is complemented by a collection of other recreational amenities, which includes a 10-acre practice facility, eight lighted clay tennis courts and a junior-Olympic-sized swimming pool.
