TRD, U.S.A. is a racing performance engineering company. It is a subsidiary of Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Founded in 1979, the company develops innovative race engine technology for a wide range of motorsports activities. It performs a wide range of operations, including complete engine design, development and assembly, as well as the engineering of high-performance aftermarket components. It engineers and builds the V8-powered Toyota Tundra engines for the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing Craftsman Truck Series. It also builds engines for most Toyota factory-backed racing competitions in the United States, including Championship off Road Racing, National Hot Rod Association Xplod Drag Racing and the United States Auto Club National Midget Car Series. TRD, U.S.A. also prepares the Lexus engines used in the Grand American Rolex Series. The company has locations in Costa Mesa, Calif., and High Point, N.C.
