The City of Tucson Parks and Recreation Department is the third municipality in Arizona and one of only 97 agencies in the United States to hold national accreditation from the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA). The park proceeds from the tournament went to the Parks and Recreation Department for a variety of projects, including swimming pool lifts for the handicapped, youth swimming programs, youth at risk programs, park renovation and playground equipment in low-income neighborhoods and many others. Parks and Recreation is well known for its expertise in parks and recreation management, operation as well as service.
