TUSD has an enrollment of more than 60,000 students each year. The district, located in Tucson, Ariz., governs several elementary, middle and high school. It also provides governance to various magnet, alternative and exceptional education schools. The district plans and prepares the academic and athletic curriculum of its schools. It also identifies the infrastructural and technological requirement of teachers, students and staff. The district offers a wide range of development programs that include comprehensive developmental counseling, peer tutoring, feeder school articulation, substance abuse prevention, interdisciplinary teaming. It also offers a variety of extended day activities, such as photojournalism, mariachi, guitarristas, computers and cooking. It supports Fine Arts Youth Academy s programs for students in grade four through 12. Additionally, the district provides online courses in all core areas through Internet. TUSD also offers scholarships for graduating seniors who are interested in continuing their education.
