Established in 1911, The University of Tennessee Health Science Center focuses on the improvement of human health through education, research clinical care and community services. It maintains colleges of allied health science, dentistry, graduate health sciences, medicine, nursing and pharmacy. The center offers more than four undergraduate and over 15 graduate and professional degree courses. The University of Tennessee Health Science Center serves nearly 2,500 students. Its Boling Center for Developmental Disabilities is an interdisciplinary program that supports children and adults with developmental disabilities. The center also provides oral and maxillofacial pathology services, including gram staining, sterilizer monitoring, immunofluorescence microscopy and microbiologic analysis of dental unit water lines. Located in Memphis, Tenn., The University of Tennessee Health Science Center is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
