Uab Hospital

Founded in 1948, the UAB Department of Anesthesiology offers undergraduate and graduate medical education services. It is one of the oldest departments of anesthesiology in the United States. The department maintains a staff of more than 60 employees. The UAB Department of Anesthesiology conducts various research activities, as well as provides patient care solutions. It is a multihospital department that operates a cardiothoracic anesthesia division. The department has a pain treatment clinic. The UAB Department of Anesthesiology also maintains anesthesia services and critical care and perioperative medicine divisions. The department is a part of the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine.
