The Department of Neurology provides a range of medical care services for patients with neurological disorders. It offers diagnostic evaluation and treatment for disorders of the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves and muscles. The department s special services include electroencephalography, electromyography and Botox injections. The Department of Neurology specializes in the treatment of seizure, memory, cognitive and movement disorders, as well as multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular diseases, stroke, dementia and headache. The department is also involved in clinical trials of new treatments for Parkinson's disease and various additional neurological disorders. The Department of Neurology is a part of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), which has an enrollment of more than 2,500 students in various academic units.
