Uniroyal Goodrich Tire was formed in 1986 through the merger of tire operations of Uniroyal and B.F. Goodrich Company. Michelin Tire purchased the privately held company in 1990. Michelin Tire is the world s No. 1 tire manufacturer. It is backed by a sales network that operates in approximately 170 countries. The company manufactures and sells tires for all kinds of vehicles, as well as publishes maps and operates a number of digital services. Each year, Michelin group plants produce 197 million tires and 20 million maps and guides. Uniroyal Goodrich Tire Company maintains operations in Greenville, S.C.
