United Cerebral Palsy of Philadelphia and Vicinity is a nonprofit organization that provides a range of programs and services for people suffering from cerebral palsy and other physical and developmental disabilities. It serves people with various physical, developmental, hearing, visual and speech impairments, including autism, head trauma, Down syndrome, spinal cord injuries and mental retardation. The organization s programs include adult and children's services, community recreation, and residential and respite care. United Cerebral Palsy of Philadelphia and Vicinity also offers community social services. Its community recreation program includes various activities, such as athletic training and fitness, birthday celebration, and planned outings and trips. Founded in 1946, United Cerebral Palsy of Philadelphia and Vicinity conducts classes in cooking, crafts, fitness, art, pottery, ceramics, gardening and music appreciation.
