Benetton Trading U.S.A is a subsidiary of the international Benetton Group and is present in 120 countries worldwide. Its core business is clothing; a group with a strong Italian character whose style and quality are seen in its brands, the casual United Colors of Benetton, fashion-oriented Sisley, Playlife leisurewear and Killer Loop streetwear. The group produces around 130 million garments every year. Its retail network of 5,000 contemporary stores throughout the world offer quality customer services and generate a total turnover of more than 1.9 billion euros. The group s operations fall into two business sectors. Its apparel lines include casual and sport clothing and complementary products such as accessories and shoes. Benetton s other activities are composed mainly of the sale of raw materials, semifinished products, industrial and advertising services and income and expenses from real estate activity. The Benetton family in Ponzano Veneto, Italy established Benetton in 1965 as a partnership. It was reorganized as a limited liability company in 1978. The company adopted the name Benetton Group S.p.A. in a corporate reorganization effective in 1985. Prior to going public in mid-1986, the company was wholly owned by the Benetton family.
